With the death of Gregg Allman, songwriter and founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, the world of music is paying its respects.

Allman, who was 69, died of liver cancer and will be buried next to his brother, Duane Allman.

Many musicians used Twitter to memorialize Allman, including his ex-wife, Cher.

Others – from Allman’s contemporaries to newer artists – paid tribute as well.
