Sacramento International Airport is leveling up its food options and asking the public to weigh in on what restaurants, bars and cafes to welcome into SMF terminals.

Sacramentans can take part in an online survey now until Dec. 23 to provide their personal opinions on food they want to see while flying from SMF.

You can take the online survey here.

Throughout the questionnaire, you’ll be presented with a variety of questions: rating your favorite types of food; rating top restaurant chains; and picking between regional vs. local food.

The restaurant and bar revamp at Sacramento Airport is being initiated in part because a large number of the restaurants leases will be up in 2024, according to the SMF website.

“There will be multiple phases of restaurant construction at SMF with the first new restaurants expected to open late summer 2024,” said Stephen Clark, deputy director of airport commercial development, in an email to The Bee. “With 18 or more total restaurants to build, the construction phases and new openings will continue through 2025.”

The survey results will be used to provide insight for the selection committee with what restaurants customers care to see at SMF, Clark said.
