Escaped: S.F. Brewers Guild celebrates aboard the S.S. Jeremiah O’Brien
The San Francisco Brewers Guild celebrates another year of beer on Saturday, Oct. 24, with a selection of brews offered aboard the historic World War II-era Liberty ship S.S. Jeremiah O’Brien.
More than 60 brands of beerfrom dozens of Bay Area breweries, including Anchor Brewing Co. and Fort Point Beer Co., will be available.
Brewers will be on hand to pour and offer insight.
The event, held right off Pier 45, will also feature views of the Golden Gate Bridge, live music and local food pairings to accompany the selection of craft beers. Attendees must be 21 years or older.

Florence and the Machine concert
What: Florence and the Machine make their stops for two nights at UC Berkeley’s Greek Theatre with full lineups from their newest album, “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful.”

International film festival
What: The seventh annual Carmel International Film Festival will host film viewings, a live musical entertainment lounge, dinner parties, award ceremonies and speakers for filmmakers and movie enthusiasts alike.

Day of the Dead celebration
What: Celebrate Dias de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, with traditional Hispanic music, dance, food and shopping vendors. The Oakland Museum of California will host mariachi performers, Aztec dancers and a traditional marketplace as a part of its “Rituals + Remembrance” exhibit.

Haunted circus
What: Get into the spirit of Halloween with the Southeast Eureka Rotary Club’s “Cirque De Soulless,” a dark, frightening twist on the classic traveling circus. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume to enjoy a night of chilling circus acts, music, dancing and a “circus food” buffet. Guests must be 18 or older to attend.

Civil War revisited
What: Step back in time at the Fresno Historical Society’s two-day re-enactment of the Civil War. Event attendees may tour re-creations of Civil War-era military encampments and civilian towns, watch battle re-enactments and observe historic cavalry and cannons.
When: Event begins 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 24-25
