Mission salutes Latino culture with festival
San Francisco’s Mission neighborhood will host its 12th annual family friendly Cinco de Mayo Festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.
The event will focus on cultural traditions within San Francisco’s historically Latino, but rapidly gentrifying, neighborhood. It will fill Valencia Street, between 21st and 24th streets.
The festival will be alcohol-free and include traditional food, dance, music and artistry. More than 65 vendors will be on-site, and the tunes will range from mariachi to Latin hip-hop, along with their accompanying dances. A marathon of Zumba dancing will kick off the festival on Saturday morning.
The event is free for all ages.
