The California State Fair at Cal Expo is hiring temporary and full-time employees.

The state fair is looking for maintenance, custodians and landscape workers, office assistants, barn crew members, livestock members and police.

Salary: $17 to $19 per hour

The state worker preforms gardening and general grounds maintenance work.

The barn crew lead worker coordinates agriculture exhibits and leads a crew of workers in the set-up and clean up of livestock. The worker also coordinates the movement of livestock in birthing facility and barns.

Salary: $15 to $18 per hour

The livestock lead clerk coordinator trains all the clerks in the entry office and oversees data entry, processes payments and compiles and notifies incomplete or deficient entries for all departments.

The competitive programs assistant helps organize the California State Fair competitive programs and special events. They will request and process applications, correspond and follow up with participants. The workers also sets up, takes down and maintains events.
