Wyclef Jean concert canceled hours before California State Fair performance

There’s been a change to the California State Fair’s Saturday night concert lineup.

The fair announced Wyclef Jean will not perform that evening due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Ticket refunds are expected to be processed that same day.

Wyclef Jean was slated to perform 8 p.m. at the Sky River Casino Stage as part of the Toyota Concert Series, according to the State Fair’s website. A news release announcing the cancellation was sent at 3:15 p.m.

He is a three-time Grammy Award winner who was once part of the Fugees, a hip-hop group in the 1990s. The rapper has since released eight albums as a solo artist, according to the state fair’s website.
