Participating Krispy Kreme outlets will offer one free doughnut of any kind, no purchase necessary, while supplies last. You can find your nearest Krispy Kreme here, along with a list of non-participating stores.
Now, if you’re still interested in the history of National Doughnut Day, it began in 1938 in Chicago to honor Salvation Army volunteers who served fresh doughnuts to World War I soldiers. It takes place on the first Friday of June each year.
