Oakhaus closing after year and a half in Oak Park, owners announce
Oak Park restaurant and taphouse Oakhaus will soon serve its last round, closing down after this Sunday, as announced Thursday morning on Facebook.
Located at 3413 Broadway, Oakhaus - a hofbrau-style tavern serving hearty German and American dishes - opened in June 2017.
“We would like to extend our gratitude to all of you who have showed your continued support throughout the past year and a half. Oakhaus has been a labor of love for us - made better by all of you that came in as customers and left as friends,” the Facebook post read, in part.
The farewell was signed “Matt and Amy” - executive chef Matt Ridgeway and Amy Schnetz, wife of co-owner Dave Schnetz.
Schnetz and his brother, Tom, also run La Venadita, a Mexican restaurant in Oak Park.
Last September, Bee food critic Kate Washington called the spot “cool” and “kitschy” in an otherwise lukewarm, 2-out-of-4 star review.
Earlier this year, though, Eater magazine named Oakhaus one of Sacramento’s 10 “buzziest” restaurants.
