Bee’s Best: Pizzasaurus Rex wins readers’ vote for best new Sacramento restaurant

In one of the tightest finishes ever for a Bee poll, Pizzasaurus Rex nipped Bambi Vegan Tacos to win an online vote for the best new restaurant of 2021. Pizzasaurus Rex finished with 45% of the vote while Bambi had 40%.

Located on K Street in midtown, Pizzasaurus Rex features a small menu that has built a strong following among Sacramento residents. Fans love the share-size rectangle pizzas that feature a thicker crust than the ever-popular Neapolitan pizza places around town. The menu only has about also features eight pizzas; three are vegan.

Another vegan favorite, Bambi Vegan Tacos, finished second. Bambi’s menu doesn’t feature meat-replacement options, like soy chorizo, but focuses on making delicious meals out of plants. It’s also in midtown, located at 1725 I Street.
