The Sacramento County Environmental Management Department routinely conducts inspections of restaurants and other food facilities to ensure that they are following county and state health and safety codes.

This includes looking out for employee hygienic practices, protection from food contamination and waste disposal.

The EMD inspects about 5,000 restaurants, bars, grocery stores and businesses that have a permit to sell food in Sacramento County. Of the thousands, some always pass while others may close or conditionally pass, meaning the restaurant had to quickly fix a violation and go through re-inspection.

See how well your favorite restaurant did in its latest inspection with the interactive map. Data was last updated March 7 and is provided by the EMD.

You can also hover over a business and click the link in the legend to read the inspection report and see what code the restaurant violated.
