Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Here are some holiday events and deals in the Sacramento area:

Downtown Commons beer garden

The popular outdoor St. Patricks Day event, featuring a beer garden and live music this Thursday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., is presented by Lagunitas. You can get your local pride on this holiday with the chance to score some Sacramento Kings merchandise, according to the Golden 1 Center. There will also be activities meant for adults and kids.

Saint Patrick’s Day Leprechaun hunt

There is quite possibly nothing more festive to do on Saint Patrick’s Day than find leprechauns hidden throughout the Old Sacramento Waterfront historic district. Check in at the Visitor Center for a copy of the activities and instructions guide or download it online here. Those who find all 10 leprechauns and guess the secret word correctly at the end will win a basket full of local goods from the district’s stores.

Green beer special

Downtown sports bar, University of Beer, is serving bottomless green beer for $17 with purchase of an entree from this month’s specials. The deal takes place Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 1510 16th St. #300 in Sacramento.

The same special also takes place at the University of Beer in Roseville during the same time at 1516 Eureka Rd.

Kiss Me, I’m Irish: Sacramento St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

For those interested in hitting the town for the occasion, Barcrawlerz is hosting a bar crawl Thursday and Friday. Participating bars include Honey and the Trapcat, Tropics The Clubhouse and Tropics Ale House Midtown, among others. Tickets can be purchased online for $15 (or $45 for a group of 4) and check-in for wristbands takes place at Flatstick Pub at 630 K St. #120.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration at Jamie’s Broadway Grille

Food and drink specials will be taking place all day from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Jamie’s Broadway Grille at 427 Broadway in Sacramento. The restaurant’s annual celebration will feature live music, starting at 3 p.m., and a limited Irish menu including corned beef cabbage, lamb stew, the Reuben sandwich and a few other dishes.

PASTEL’s St. Patrick’s Day party

Social Nightclub is holding a party, presented by music event company PASTEL, this Thursday from 9 p.m. to closing at 1:30 a.m. The night is stacked with EDM, house music and hip hop artists. Tickets are available for pre-sale for $5 and $10 at the door. Must be 21 years of age and over to enter.

Themed painting session in Rocklin

If you’re looking to tap into your artistic side this holiday, celebrate the evening by painting a ‘lucky’ shamrock decorated canvas and sipping on wine or other beverage of choice. The festive painting and wine session takes place at Cool River in Pizza & Taphouse at 6200 Stanford Ranch Rd. in Rocklin from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets, which include all painting materials and supplies, are $40.
