This new Latin American-inspired cafe opened in Sacramento. See where and the prices
A new Latin American-inspired cafe is joining Sacramento’s coffee scene.
La Costa Cafe opened its doors in midtown Sacramento on Jan. 19, according to an Instagram post from the coffee shop.
Located at 701 19th St., La Costa Cafe offers Latin American foods and coffee. The new cafe concept is at the former location of Tupi, a Brazilian Cafe, which has since relocated downtown.
What’s on La Costa Cafe’s menu?
Chef and owner Ignacio Ortega Perez is behind the new cafe.
Perez’s Mexican roots and restaurant experience in San Francisco inspired him to open his very first brick-and-mortar in Sacramento, according to the cafe’s website.
On La Costa’s menu, you’ll find your usual choice of coffees, ranging from lattes, cappuccinos and mochas. Prices for drinks range from $4 to $7.
There’s also a selection of breakfast toasts, including ricotta cheese toast and wild mushroom toast. Prices range from $10 to $14.
Those who are looking for a sweeter option can look to the pastry menu where items include banana bread, traditional Mexican conchas and flan.
Pastries range from $4 to $5.
After 10 a.m., the cafe offers a variety of ceviche tostadas. The Latin American dish consists of a fish marinated in citrus, paired with fresh vegetables and fruits. You can choose to have your ceviche with shrimp, tuna or yellowtail hamachi.
Ceviche tostadas range from $8 to $24.
When is the cafe open?
La Costa is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week.
