Girl Scout Cookies are back! Here’s how to find Thin Mints in Central California

The best time of the year for sweet treat lovers is back — Girl Scout Cookie season.

On Monday, the Girl Scouts Heart of Central California council announced the launch of the 2026 sales period. This year, a new ice cream-inspired cookie has been added to the iconic flavor lineup.

The annual Girl Scout Cookie sale is the largest girl-led entrepreneurship program in the world, and all proceeds generated from each $7 box goes back into the troops and local councils to support programming for Girl Scouts in grades K-12.

“Every Girl Scout Cookie season is about more than cookies — it’s about building confidence, leadership, and lifelong skills for girls across our region,” said Linda E. Farley, the CEO of Girl Scouts Heart of Central California in a statement.

The Sacramento-based Girl Scouts Heart of Central California council supports more than 16,000 Girl Scouts and adult members in 18 Northern California counties.

What flavors of Girl Scout Cookies are there this year?

Girl Scouts of the USA introduced Exploremores, a rocky road ice cream-flavored sandwich cookie, in 2026.

The newest addition to the roster comes in a salmon-pink box and features two trefoil-stamped chocolate cookies with a chocolate-marshmallow-almond crème stuffing in the center.

In addition to the Exploremore, sweet-toothed customers can purchase the eight other mainstay Girl Scout Cookie flavors from Heart of Central California troops:

  • Thin Mints
  • Caramel deLites, or Samoas
  • Trefoils
  • Lemonades
  • Peanut Butter Patties, or Tagalongs
  • Peanut Butter Sandwiches, or Do-si-dos
  • Gluten-free Caramel Cookie Chip
  • Adventurefuls

How can I get Girl Scout Cookies?

There are a few ways to get your hands on a box of your choosing, both in-person and online.

If you know a Girl Scout or a parent of a Girl Scout, you may reach out directly to them to support a local troop.

Otherwise, Girl Scout cookie booths regularly pop up at grocery stores and community spaces throughout the region on weeknight evenings and weekends. Troops nationwide also sell cookies online, through the Girl Scouts digital cookie store program.

The Girl Scouts website has a searchable list of pop-up booths and area troops’ online ordering pages.

This year’s cookie program runs through March 15, according to Girl Scouts Heart of Central California.
