Aldi's Colorful 8-Piece Mix and Prep Set Is a Cheerful Way to Streamline Weeknight Meals
If I had to narrow down the qualities that make me click "add to cart" on a new kitchen gadget, two things rise to the top every time-it has to save space and make my kitchen look a little happier. I'm a sucker for anything that nests neatly inside itself, folds away, or pulls double duty instead of hogging precious cabinet real estate. When it comes in bright, cheerful colors it just makes opening a cabinet or walking into the kitchen feel a little more fun.
Of course, good looks only get a product so far. Anything that enters the kitchen also has to earn its keep. All flash and no function just isn't going to work. That's why I have heart eyes for Aldi's new 8-piece Mix & Prep Set.

Crofton 8-Piece Mix & Prep Set, $9.99 at Aldi
The first thing you notice about this Aldi Find is how satisfyingly it all nests together. Instead of eight separate pieces rattling around your cabinets, the mixing bowls and measuring cups stack neatly into one compact bundle that takes up about as much room as a single large bowl. There's even a mesh strainer tucked in there too, because Aldi really thought of everything with this grouping.
With the multicolor colorway, you get a soft palette of dusty blue, sage green, lavender and creamy ivory which gives it a modern, yet slightly retro feel that looks far more expensive than you'd expect considering its $9.99 price tag. Then there's a blue gradient colorway that's chic and calming. It's the kind of kitchen set you won't mind leaving out on the counter because it doubles as a pretty pop of color.

You'll see a lot of affordable kitchen gear in the Aldi Finds aisle this week. There's a sweet little rice cooker for $14.99 and a five-piece cookware set that's also designed to be space-saving for only $29.99. But perhaps the biggest kitchen workhorse available now is a four-pack of flexible cutting mats that are perfect for chopping, dicing and any other knife skills you want to show off while prepping dinner.
If you know a college student about to move into their first apartment all of these finds make an ideal kitchen starter kit ... and a colorful one to boot.
