Here are 12 Sacramento-area eateries offering take-home Easter meals amid coronavirus
Have a happy but socially distant Easter this Sunday.
A holiday that in normal times would bring thousands to tables at locally owned restaurants for Easter meals, or into friends’ and family members’ homes for food and other celebrations, can now for the most part feature neither, at least in a traditional sense.
Sacramento County earlier this week expanded its mandatory stay-at-home order to ban social gatherings of any size outside of one’s immediate household, and restaurants throughout the county and across California have been forbidden since March 19 from offering in-person dining. All are measures intended to mitigate spread of the coronavirus, which as of Thursday morning had infected nearly 20,000 Californians and killed close to 500.
But if no one in your home can cook, or if no one wants to make food this Sunday, or if you want to support local businesses that are providing takeout or delivery options on Easter, you have a number of options in the Sacramento area.
Here is a list of 12 notable local eateries that are providing breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner options this Sunday. It is not a full list of all restaurants offering such services. If you wish to patronize one of these businesses, The Bee strongly recommends calling ahead and double-checking the restaurant’s website. Many are requiring reservations in advance and, in the uncertain times of COVID-19, plans are almost always subject to sudden change.
