Longtime East Sacramento burger restaurant closing after decades of serving up winners

Known for it’s beer and burgers, The Shack at 5201 Folsom Boulevard in East Sacramento announced on Facebook it will close its doors July 31. The restaurant has been open in some form since 1931.

After 17 years of ownership, the current owners expressed gratitude for the patrons and staff who supported them throughout their “amazing adventure.” Comments under the post are filled with disappointed customers, many shared memories.

The restaurant’s website says The Shack has been open since 1931, and still offers the option to place pick-up orders. Farewell events are planned at the establishment.

No further details about the closure were offered.
