Thai restaurant specializing in khao soy closes in south Sacramento after 3 years

A closed restaurant

Khao Soy House Thai Restaurant will close in south Sacramento after just over three years in business on Friday, owner Nai Leng Phomphakdy announced in a local Facebook group on Thursday.

The restaurant at 6519 Savings Place, Suite 225 was best known for its namesake soup, Lao-style khao soy with flat rice noodles, beef broth, ground pork, meatballs and shrimp.

Customers also raved about the khao poon, papaya salad and boat noodles on Yelp, where Khao Soy House had four stars prior to closing.

The cash-only Thai/Lao restaurant shared its shopping center with a handful of other Asian food businesses such as Tứ Quý Cafe, all-vegetarian Bodhi Bowl and the newly-opened Pipo Ramen & Rice.
