Liquor license suspended by state, Folsom restaurant temporarily closes. Here’s what happened
The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has suspended the liquor license of a Folsom restaurant after a customer who was intoxicated was served alcohol three years ago, according to the agency.
Dolan’s Bar and Grill at 199 Blue Ravine Road in Folsom was serving a 15-day suspension of its license for selling alcohol “to an obviously intoxicated person,” Bryce Avalos, a spokesman for the state agency, said Monday. He said the restaurant’s license also was suspended for the business violating its license conditions.
Attempts by The Sacramento Bee to speak to a representative from Dolan’s Bar and Grill were unsuccessful Monday.
Avalos confirmed that the liquor license suspension began on July 20, and he said the intoxicated person served alcohol at the Folsom restaurant was previously arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Feb. 28, 2020.
On July 25, Dolan’s Bar and Grill representatives announced in a Facebook post that the restaurant would “be temporarily closed (due) to some tax-related issues.” On Friday, they announced in a second Facebook post that Dolan’s Bar’s “situation is a work in progress.”
“We’re sorry for the closure and the inconvenience,” according to the Dolan’s Bar and Grill July 28 Facebook post. “We’re hoping to get this remedied sooner than later.”
The Sacramento Business Journal, which first reported news about the liquor license suspension, found that Alcoholic Beverage Control posted a notice of suspension in front of the restaurant. The Business Journal also reported that Dolan’s Bar and Grill would be able to sell alcohol after the 15-day suspension.
