The Sacramento region is home to some of California’s most exciting, unique and delicious restaurants. These are the Top 50.

The Sacramento Bee’s Top 50 Restaurants of 2024 spans from Winters to Placerville and across the four-county region, and includes first-rate taquerias alongside Michelin-starred concepts. It illustrates the diverse region’s wealth of culinary options and the bounty of produce available from local farms, which top chefs artfully fold into jaw-dropping dishes. 

This list was compiled based on food writer Benjy Egel’s reviews over the past 11 months, a dream process illustrated in this accompanying article. Reviews were conducted without the restaurants’ knowledge (as possible) and paid for by The Sacramento Bee to avoid potential conflicts of interest.
