A new fusion cuisine recently opened its doors in Sacramento’s midtown area.

Field-n-Flame Midtown restaurant, located at 1521 L St., takes over the space formerly occupied by modern Korean restaurant Seoul St. Midtown. The location previously housed de Vere’s Irish Pub, which closed in 2021.

The new restaurant features a 100-seat dining area and a 25-seat bar. It serves American and Mediterranean-style dishes for lunch and dinner.

General manager and partner Firuz Ozluk said the restaurant sources more than 80% of its produce from local farmers and suppliers.

“That’s why we are getting our produce from the ‘field,’ meeting with ‘the flame,’ our kitchen and serving here in midtown,” Ozluk said.

Menu items include ribeye steak, dry-aged for at least 28 days, pork chops, filet mignon skewers and house-made pasta. The restaurant also offers Greek-style salads with marinades and extra virgin olive oil imported from Turkey, Spain and Greece. Wines from Portugal, Spain and Italy are available at the bar.

Ozluk said the restaurant’s service approach is designed to balance casual and fine dining.

“The ambiance and vibe for this place is special too,” Ozluk said. “Whenever our guests come into this place, they’re going to feel comfy and cozy, feel like at home, but at the same time, our servers, our front of the house staff, are going to serve them close to the fine dining experience.”

He said the average meal for one person ranges from $30 to $55, including drinks.

“The place looks fancy, looks like fine dining, but this place is a casual, elegant dining place,” Ozluk said. “We purposely made our pricing reasonable.”

Field-n-Flame is open for dinner from 4 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The restaurant plans to launch lunch service beginning Thursday, opening at 11 a.m. It is currently closed Sundays but plans to add brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Ozluk said brunch hours would begin at 9 a.m., though no start date has been announced.
