Dos Coyotes will celebrate 35 years with this throwback deal today only
Local fast casual chain restaurant Dos Coyotes Border Cafe is on the cusp of celebrating 35 years in business. To celebrate this landmark anniversary, the restaurant is offering a special promotion honoring its origins — with one caveat aimed at helping others in the capital region.
Founded by Bobby Coyote in Davis, Dos Coyotes has been serving their unique interpretation of Southwestern cuisine at 12 locations around the Sacramento region since Jan. 5, 1991.
For one day only — on Monday, Jan. 5 — 10 Dos Coyotes locations will offer their signature Border Chicken Burrito for $5, matching its original 1991 menu price. The Thunder Valley and San Ramon restaurants are not participating. The burrito typically sells for $13.
But to access the special pricing, customers must make a minimum $2 donation at the time of ordering, with proceeds going directly to local food banks. Donations will be accepted in-store or by phone only, Dos Coyotes officials said.
Beneficiaries will include Davis’ Yolo Crisis Nursery, Folsom’s Twin Lakes Food Bank, Elk Grove Food Bank, Roseville’s Feeding the Foothills and Sacramento’s Food Literacy Center, the company said.
In addition to the anniversary burrito deal, the same 10 participating locations will offer a month-long special throughout January: two Ranchero Burritos with drinks for $19.91.
