As we struggle to stay comfortable through the short days and long nights of winter, I find that something steaming hot is one surefire way to get warm (and improve our overall outlook on life), whether it’s cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate, a bowl of soup or even some oatmeal. But instead of boiling water the old-fashioned way on the stove, I like to be up-to-date and efficient with my kettle, and that’s where the Cuisinart Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle comes in.

The Cuisinart is a go-to in my house for fast, energy-efficient, precise water heating for all types of beverages and dishes requiring hot water, and it sure beats waiting around the stove for a clunky old kettle to heat up. And you can get it now for 20% off on Amazon!

When it comes to electric kettles, I don’t have to talk about a lot of fancy terminology or technical details — all you need to know is, does the kettle do its job well, and does it do it fast? The Cuisinart Cordless Electric Kettle answers both those questions with a resounding “yes.” Its smooth stainless steel exterior looks good in any kitchen setup, while its 1.7-liter capacity can fill up a couple teacups or generate enough coffee for a whole family, and its 1500 watts of power ensures that you’ll get hot water in a matter of minutes. Better still is how easy the kettle is to operate. Just fill it with water and choose one of the six heating presets, which range from 160 degrees to boiling and cover everything from delicate teas to black coffee and water for instant noodles. (True to the kettle’s word — and our testing,– the water it heats is at the correct temperature every time.) Once the heating is done, you pour it immediately or hit the “warm” button to maintain the water’s temperature for the next 30 minutes.

The Cuisinart Electric Kettle also boasts some straightforward, useful design features. A window on the side of the kettle measures how much water is inside, and it’s back-lit so it’s easy to see your water levels. The kettle is also cordless so you can remove it from the heating base and pour it anywhere, and its rounded spout and splash guard ensures it dispenses safely and easily. Because the base’s heating element is contained in the center of the pad, you don’t have to fumble around when placing the kettle back on the pad — just line it up with the center of the kettle. And as an added safety feature, the kettle has boil-dry protection which shuts the kettle off in case you forget about it and the water inside evaporates.

Experts such as the ones at the Spruce Eats and Wirecutter rate the Cuisinart Stainless Steel Cordless Electric Kettle as the best electric kettle you can get because of its convenience and user-friendliness, as well as its performance and water-heating accuracy. The Cuisinart has been a mainstay in my kitchen for a decade now and is still going strong; I can’t come up with a better recommendation than that, and its current discount on Amazon makes this electric kettle even more of a must-buy!
