Sacramento-area casino to fill more than 100 jobs in the new year. How to apply

Looking for work? Thunder Valley Casino Resort is hiring for more than 100 part-time and full-time positions ranging from food servers to emergency medical technicians.

The Sacramento-area casino is hosting 12 job fairs in January to fill those positions.

Walk-in interviews begin Friday, Jan. 2, at the casino’s employment center, 1200 Athens Ave., in Lincoln, the casino said in a news release.

They’ll continue through Friday, Jan. 30.

What jobs are available at Thunder Valley Casino near Sacramento?

Thunder Valley Casino Resort said it’s looking to fill positions in the following employment areas:

  • Culinary
  • Housekeeping
  • Food and beverage
  • Security
  • Emergency medical technician
  • Table games

Open jobs include housekeepers, VIP drivers, cooks, table game dealers and beverage servers.

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, able to pass drug and background checks, and able to work weekends and holidays.

Some jobs require applicants to be at least 21 years old.

Though it’s not required, candidates are encouraged to fill out job applications online before attending the Thunder Valley Casino job fairs.

What benefits do casino workers get?

Benefits for full-time employees at Thunder Valley Casino Resort include medical, dental and vision insurance.

The casino said all workers also get paid time off, life insurance, tuition reimbursement and long-term disability insurance perks. All employees also receive free parking and meals, as well as discounts, training and advancement opportunities.

The casino in Placer County provides free wellness counseling and matching funds for 401k retirement plans for all workers.

When are interview times at Placer County casino?

Here’s a list of the scheduled interview times:

  • Security and emergency technician: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2, Jan. 16 and Jan. 30
  • Table games (open to candidates with experience): 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6 and Jan. 20
  • Culinary: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7 and Jan. 21
  • Open job fair: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10
  • Housekeeping and internal maintenance: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13 and Jan. 27
  • Food and beverage: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14 and Jan. 28

If you’re unable to attend a specific job fair, you can participate in any employment event throughout the month, the release said.
