Live video replay: Cal Fire gives update on deadly Carr Fire, 4 p.m. Friday
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection is holding a news conference on Friday afternoon to give an update to the Carr Fire raging in Redding, California.
The fire already has destroyed dozens of homes, forced evacuation orders for more than 37,000 residents and is threatening nearly 5,000 homes. Fire officials say its erratic, unpredictable nature is a sign of how much peril tinder-dry California faces from wildfires.
Two firefighters have perished in the blaze.
