Bicyclist injured after being hit by car near Sacramento bus station

One person was injured Friday night after a vehicle hit a biker across the street from the Greyhound bus station on Richards Boulevard.

A motorist was traveling westbound at 8:16 p.m. when a bicyclist crossed against the light in front of the vehicle, said Sacramento Police Department Sgt. Jeremy Schwartz.

Schwartz said witnesses told officers that the motorist was traveling the speed limit.

“She had no time to stop, and she struck the bicyclist,” Schwartz said.

The motorist was taken to an area hospital in an ambulance.
