See ‘friendly pod’ of killer whales show off their big meal to tourists

A video filmed by Monterey Bay Whale Watch tour service shows a “friendly pod” of killer whales, known for their curiosity of boats and tourists, showing off their meal while swimming around Carmel Bay.

The video posted to Facebook on May 1, 2019 , shows an orca pushing the gray whale calf carcass toward the boat.

“The CA51 matriline of Killer Whales, known as the ‘Friendly Pod’ for their curiosity about boats and the people on them, brought the Gray Whale calf carcass up next to our drifting boat and pulled it underwater to feed – in Carmel Bay,” the caption said.
