Update: Police arrest woman in connection with Arden Way bank robbery

Sacramento police say they have arrested a woman who allegedly committed a robbery Friday morning across the street from the Arden Fair Mall,.

Ashley Dillard, 31, was identified by police as the suspect. She was booked into the main jail on on suspicion of robbery, and is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

At 10:35 a.m., police received a call from the bank in the 1800 block of Arden Way, reporting an armed robbery, said Officer Karl Chan, spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department.

Before the 911 call was made, Dillard allegedly entered the California Bank & Trust saying she had a gun and demanded money, Chan said. Witnesses as the scene reported never actually seeing a gun, he said.

Dillard then allegedly fled the scene on foot with some cash, Chan said.

Officers are reviewing surveillance footage and have forwarded information to the FBI, he said.
