Former Kings coach Dave Joerger sells his Shingle Springs ranch for $1.56 million
Former Sacramento Kings head coach Dave Joerger has sold his equestrian property in Shingle Springs for $1.56 million, according to real estate records.
The 10-acre El Dorado County ranch has a two-story, 4,564-square-foot main residence. The custom home, 5201 Grazing Hill Road, features five bedrooms, four baths, a huge kitchen with granite counters, three fireplaces, extensive decking and an outdoor kitchen.
Away from the main residence, there are guest quarters, a gym and stocked pond.
For the equestrian in the family, the home offers a 10-horse barn with wash rack, tack room, hay storage, pastures, covered arena and pen.
Realtor.com describes the house as a “gorgeous equestrian estate on 10 acres in Sun Ridge Ranch.”
The Kings fired Joerger last April after taking the team to a 39-43 record in the 2018-2019 season. He compiled a 98-143 record in three seasons with Sacramento. He was replaced by current head coach Luke Walton.
The property was listed for $1.675 million in November and sold in early December.
Joerger and his wife Kara started looking at horse properties in 2016 right after moving to Sacramento from Memphis, Tennessee, where Joerger coached the Grizzlies. Kara Joerger is a competitive barrel racer. The family bought the property for $1.35 million in July 2016.
The couple divorced in 2018. Joerger remarried in January, exchanging vows with Kimberly Irons in Paso Robles.
Mark Boston of GBR Real Estate & Investment was the listing agent. He did not return a phone call for comment.
