Spring Swap Meet at Stanislaus fairgrounds will feature pinup girls, oldies music and barbecue

Rich Roberts’ annual spring Turlock Classic Car Swap Meet Show has several new features this year.

In the car show area, Roberts is planning to offer beer, oldies music and barbecue — along with pinup girls available for photographs. Those showing a car or selling a vintage vehicle can have their picture taken with women dressed in 1950s rock-and-roll garb.

Roberts is expecting 10,000 potential vendors for the event Sunday centered at the Stanislaus County Fairground. Only collectible and automotive-related items can be sold.

The event, started in 1986, runs from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. It attracts participants from all over California, Nevada, Oregon and surrounding states.

About 300 vintage vehicles, some for sale, will be in the car show area.

Spectator admission is $8; free for children 12 and under. Preferred parking is $5, and free parking also is available.
