A fire destroyed two apartment buildings and damaged two adjacent structures Friday afternoon in the 46000 block of Millux Street, the California Department of Forestry and Fire/Merced County Fire Department reported.
Battalion Chief Mike van Loben said firefighters responded to the fire at 1:18 p.m. Friday. The blaze was contained at 3:01 p.m.
No injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation.
Upon their arrival, firefighters saw two apartment buildings on fire. The fire extended into a third apartment building, and the roof of a nearby two-story building was also burned.

Firefighters estimated the damage to all the structures to be about $250,000; about $500,000 in property was saved.
The Merced County Fire Department was assisted by Dos Palos, Los Banos and Firebaugh fire departments.
Seven engines, one water tender, one truck and three battalion chiefs responded to the scene.
