Ellie fire in San Dimas burns 4 acres, prompts warnings before it's halted
A vegetation fire in San Dimas burned 4 acres Saturday, June 13, before firefighters stopped its forward progress.
The blaze, dubbed the Ellie Fire, was reported shortly before noon in the 1500 block of Shirlmar Avenue, according to Watch Duty, a nonprofit app that tracks wildfires.
Forward progress was stopped shortly after 1 p.m., limiting the fire to around 4.2 acres, according to Watch Duty. As of late Saturday afternoon, the fire was 90% contained.
Earlier, evacuation warnings were issued for some areas north of West Foothill Boulevard as firefighters battled the fire, but were lifted shortly after 2 p.m. It was not immediately clear how many residents were affected by the warnings.
No injuries or damaged structures were immediately reported, and the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
