Cask & Barrel, which opened about 19 months ago in Sacramento, closed Sunday.
The closure was announced Tuesday in a news release issued by David Hardie, landlord of the building that housed the restaurant at Arden Way and Del Paso Boulevard. Hardie thanked chef Gabriel Glasier, pastry chef Kristel Flores and the Cask and Barrel staff, as well as the neighborhood.
Hardie gave no reason for the closure. Glasier could not be reached for comment Tuesday.
Hardie said the building will undergo a brief remodel and reopen with two “neighborhood friendly concepts” run by Deneb Williams.
Cask & Barrel opened in February 2015 at the site of the former Enotria, which had seen major staff turnovers and a few shutdowns during its 18-year-run. Cask & Barrel specialized in barbecue and classic American dishes with a modern touch.
