New Goodwill store opening next week in Placerville

Goodwill Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada will open a new store Thursday, Oct. 13, in Placerville.

The 20,000-square-foot store at 3868 Forni Road – where Forni intersects Missouri Flat Road – will be the regional organization’s 28th retail store.

Four days of grand-opening activities will begin at 8 a.m. Oct. 13. The first 200 customers in line will receive recyclable tote bags and other items.

The new store will employ 50 people and feature various new and donated items at discounted prices, including Halloween costumes. Officials said the store ultimately will be stocked with more than 80,000 items, including clothing, furniture and household staples.

The store also will have a donation drop-off area.

Regular store hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Last month, Goodwill Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada opened a new 23,000-square-foot store and community training center at 2040 Alta Arden Expressway in Sacramento. That store employs 100.
