Former 49ers tight end Vernon Davis looks to catch buyer for $2.8M San Jose home

Former San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis, now with the Washington Redskins, has put his home in San Jose on the market for $2.849 million.

Sited on a hillside of more than an acre, the three-story Mediterranean takes in panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and city lights.

The updated home, with vaulted ceilings and Brazilian wood floors, features a chandelier-topped entry that opens on one side to the formal living room and on the other to the dining room. Five fireplaces, two family rooms, a wine cellar and a billiards room with a wet bar also lie within 7,250 square feet of living space.

The master suite has a two-way fireplace, a custom closet and French doors that open to a terrace balcony. There’s also a gym and a private office/den with its own entrance.

Outdoors, a loggia opens to a patio with a hot tub. Elsewhere, a covered pavilion holds an outdoor kitchen.Davis, who sold another Bay Area home earlier this year, bought the property two years ago for $2.3 million.

Davis, twice a Pro Bowler, was drafted by the 49ers in 2006 and spent the better part of 10 seasons with the team. The 32-year-old was traded by San Francisco to Denver last year and signed with Washington this past off-season.
