Nugget Market Inc. has once again made Fortune magazine’s list of the nation’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.”

It marked the 10th consecutive year that the Woodland-based grocery chain made the Fortune rankings. Nugget ranked 26th on the 2015 list released Thursday, up from No. 36 in 2014. During the streak, the company has ranked as high as fifth, in 2010.

Privately held Nugget operates nine Nugget Markets stores in the greater Sacramento area, two Food 4 Less stores in Woodland and Vallejo, and one Fork Lift by Nugget Markets store in Cameron Park. In January, the company acquired Paradise Foods and its three Marin County stores, which will be remodeled, rebranded and opened as Nugget Markets later this year.

Founded in 1926 by the father-son team of William and Mack Stille, a fifth generation is now involved in the family business. Fourth-generation Nugget exec Eric Stille is the current president and CEO of the company, which employs more than 1,100.

On Fortune’s annual list, Google topped the list for a sixth time. Nugget was ranked two spots behind San Francisco-based Twitter.
