The level of pain at gasoline pumps statewide was evident in AAA’s monthly gas price survey released Tuesday.
In Sacramento, AAA said the average cost for unleaded regular was $3.29 a gallon, up 74 cents from its Feb. 10 survey. In Northern California, unleaded was going for $3.37 a gallon, a 75-cent increase in one month.
Statewide, the average price was $3.43 a gallon, a 78-cent spike over February.
The least expensive gas in Northern California was in Marysville, where the average for unleaded regular was $3.21 a gallon, a 75-cent increase in one month.
Refinery disruptions, rising wholesale gas prices and refinery conversions to produce more expensive spring-summer gas blends all combined to send prices soaring throughout the Golden State, AAA said.
