Davis-based Arcadia Biosciences hires chief financial officer

Davis-based biotech firm Arcadia Biosciences Inc. has hired a new chief financial officer.

Thomas O’Neil has more than 20 years of finance and operations experience in U.S. and global companies, most recently in the Bay Area.

O’Neil comes to Arcadia from Sunnyvale-based Sorbent Therapeutics Inc., where he was CFO. He has also held executive-level positions with ChemGenex Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded Australian company, and biotechnology firms Nodality in South San Francisco and HX Diagnostics in Emeryville.

Arcadia, an agricultural technology company, develops products meant to benefit the environment, enhance human health and make agricultural production more efficient.

The company recently filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a public stock offering of up to $86.3 million. Founded in 2002, Arcadia employs nearly 80 workers in Davis, Seattle, Phoenix and American Falls, Idaho.
