Sacramento County credit unions rang up record totals in 2016

Sacramento County-based credit unions continued to see growth and set records in 2016, according to the Ontario-based California Credit Union League.

CCUL said 10 credit unions headquartered in Sacramento County had a record 1.26 million members at the close of 2016, up about 100,000, or 8.6 percent, from 2015.

County-based credit unions loaned a combined $11 billion last year, a record and a 25 percent year-over-year increase from $8.8 billion the prior year.

Deposits in 2016 hit an all-time high of $14.2 billion.
