A survey reveals the gas station chains with the top-rated restrooms across the United States, but has some bad news for Sacramento.
California’s best gas station restrooms can be found at Rotten Robbie outlets, reports GasBuddy in its 2017 survey. But the chain no longer has stations in Sacramento. The nearest Rotten Robbie can be found about 67 miles away in Pleasant Hill. That’s over an hour’s drive from Sacramento – a long time to wait.
Rotten Robbie has 34 stores throughout Northern California, mostly in the San Francisco Bay Area, so California was the chain’s only appearance in the GasBuddy survey.
Tulsa-based QuikTrip stations took top honors in nine states, with Chevron coming in second with five states. Other top-ranked restrooms included those found at Mobil, Holiday, Wawa and Sheetz gas stations. Chains had to have at least 20 stations in a state to qualify, and data was collected by the GasBuddy app from March 2016 through April 2017.
“Today’s customers expect more than a key attached to a hubcap or a sign informing visitors that restrooms are for ‘paying customers only,’ ” said Frank Beard, convenience store and retail trends analyst at GasBuddy, in a press release on the survey.
GasBuddy is a smartphone app used by 65 million drivers to find the lowest gas prices and best-rated service stations. Users have filed nearly 1.5 million reviews since the feature launched in September 2016.
