Kentucky Fried Chicken is taking on an international flavor.

KFC, the fast-food restaurant that’s been serving fried chicken in the United States since 1930, selected its first Filipino colonel Monday in a video seen on the company’s Facebook page.

Ronaldo Valdez, an actor whose film and television career spans five decades, won the role.

“I promise to protect the 11 secret herbs and spices that make my fried chicken unique in all the land,” Valdez says in the video while taking his oath as the new colonel.

Addressing a large crowd, he closes: “So help me, gravy!”
