7-Eleven is bringing Bring Your Own Cup day to the United States, a promotion that encourages customers to fill tea pots, sand buckets, trophy cups or any other qualifying container with Slurpee.

The promotion for the convenience store chain has already been pioneered in Australia, Canada, the Philippines and Malaysia where BYO Cup Days have been embraced by lovers of the sweet, frozen drink.

BYO Cup takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The cost of an improvised “cup” of Slurpee is $1.49, the usual cost of a Slurpee drink in a medium conventional store cup.

The cup must fit through a 10-inch diameter hole in a store display, a requirement that prevents customers from filling kiddie pools full of Slurpee.
