Marrone Bio in Davis sees gains in revenue, product shipments
Davis biotech firm Marrone Bio Innovations Inc. saw a 16 percent year-over-year gain in revenue in the third quarter but reported a net loss of $8.5 million in the three-month period.
Marrone’s quarterly revenue totaled $4.2 million, up from $3.6 million in the year-ago period. The company’s net loss in the third quarter of 2016 was $7.2 million.
The local firm noted that product shipments grew 36 percent to $15.2 million through the first nine months of 2017, up from $11.2 million in 2016. MBI said severe weather had a negative impact in some markets; that included damaging hurricanes that recently struck Florida and Puerto Rico.
