Golden 1 hosts free document-shredding event Saturday
Golden 1 Credit Union is hosting a free paper-shredding event from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at its headquarters, 8945 Cal Center Drive in Sacramento.
Anyone can drive up and drop off up to five banker’s boxes of documents. Golden 1 staff and workers from shredding company Iron Mountain Inc. will handle the unloading and on-site shredding of documents. All shredded remnants will be recycled.
In addition to paper documents, compact discs, DVDs and floppy disks also will be accepted.
Golden 1 said it has been hosting document-shredding events since 2006, handling more than 1.75 million pounds of paperwork.
