Black Bear Diner to open Wednesday in Woodland
Black Bear Diner, the Redding-based chain specializing in traditional comfort food and sizable portions, is opening its new restaurant Wednesday in Woodland. (Earlier, the company had said it was opening Monday.)
The 4,000-square-foot restaurant, at 1530 E. Main St., is the fifth Black Bear Diner in the region, joining locations in Sacramento, Roseville, Auburn and Davis. Doors will open at 6 a.m.
There are nearly 70 Black Bear restaurants in the chain, most of them in Northern California. The company, which says its best-selling menu item is chicken-fried steak, started with a single restaurant in Mount Shasta in 1995.
