Boston’s Pizza plans five Sacramento-area eateries over next six years

Boston’s Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar, a Dallas-based chain of casual dining restaurants, said Friday that it has signed a development agreement to open five eateries in the Sacramento area over the next six years.

The company did not name specific sites but said it plans to open its first area restaurant before the end of 2018.

The Boston’s website shows only one restaurant currently operating in the Golden State, in Fontana.

Boston’s touts a “contemporary, sit-down family dining atmosphere with a separate sports bar, allowing for family and friend gatherings of all sizes.” It specializes in gourmet pizza and pasta, with a 90-item menu that includes pizzas, pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches, burgers, wings and ribs.

Boston’s currently has 25 restaurants in 16 states. The company’s sister brand, Boston Pizza, has more than 400 restaurants throughout Canada and bills itself as the top casual dining brand in that country.
