The operators of Taqueria Maya, a family-owned restaurant at 2700 Broadway in Sacramento, plan to open a new restaurant north of downtown in a couple of months.

In a Facebook video, restaurant manager Daniel Maya said the new eatery will open on Bercut Drive, just north of Richards Boulevard along the eastern edge of Interstate 5.

Maya, walking amid the interior construction area in the posted video, said the new eatery will have some of the same menu items as the restaurant on Broadway, plus some new dishes adopted from Mexico. Live music and a tequila tasting area also are in the works.
