Black Bear Diner, the Redding-based chain specializing in big portions of traditional comfort food, has moved the opening date of its new restaurant in Woodland to Wednesday. Earlier, the company had said it was opening Monday.
The 4,000-square-foot restaurant, at 1530 E. Main St., is the fifth Black Bear Diner in the region, joining locations in Sacramento, Roseville, Auburn and Davis. Doors will open at 6 a.m.
There are nearly 70 Black Bear restaurants in the chain, most of them in Northern California. The company, which says its best-selling menu item is chicken-fried steak, started with a single restaurant in Mount Shasta in 1995.
