A global technology company with Sacramento roots plans to hire more workers at its El Dorado Hills office thanks to an acquisition in Singapore.
R Systems International Ltd., which was founded in the Sacramento area but is now based in India, announced this week that it has purchased a Singapore company called IBIZCS Group.
Rekhi Singh, founder and chief executive of R Systems, said Thursday that his company will begin selling the Singapore company’s products in the U.S. market in the coming months. Until now, the software has been sold mainly in Southeast Asia.
That will lead to expansion at the 70-employee El Dorado Hills office, Singh said. The Singapore company’s products dovetail with R System’s “big data” operations in El Dorado Hills. “We will add another 15 to 20 people here,” he said.
Big data is the business of using software to analyze reams of information in order to predict customer behavior and more.
R Systems specializes in software and systems for helping companies outsource their information technology and customer support operations. Singh founded the company in Sacramento in 1993 but later moved its headquarters to his native India.
The company employs a total of 200 workers in the United States and 2,500 worldwide. It topped $100 million in sales last year, Singh said.
