Sprouts Farmers Market is planning a new site in Sacramento
Sprouts Farmers Market said Wednesday that it is aiming to open its new store in Sacramento’s Town & Country Village shopping complex in this year’s third quarter.
The Phoenix-based chain said the market at 2735 Marconi Ave. will be one of 13 new sites it plans to open nationwide in the July-to-September period. That includes individual stores in both Lodi and Vacaville, and three in Las Vegas.
The Sacramento store will open in a space formerly occupied by Save Mart.
The grocer said hiring information and a grand-opening date will be announced later this year.
Sprouts currently operates seven stores in the Sacramento area. On April 18, it is scheduled to open an eighth, a 30,000-square-foot store at 115 Ferrari Ranch Road in Lincoln. Last month, Sprouts hosted a job fair to fill 150 positions to staff the Lincoln market.
The company said a typical Sprouts market employs about 140.
The chain now has 111 stores in California and oversees nearly 300 stores in 16 states, employing more than 28,000.
