Brokerage firm moving operations to downtown core

One of Sacramento’s top real estate brokerage companies is trading its suburban offices for new space in the downtown core.

Newmark Cornish & Carey executives said Wednesday they have signed a lease for the top floor of the Park Tower building at 980 Ninth St.

The move is to be completed in October.

The West Coast brokerage company has had its Sacramento offices at 1601 Response Road in the Point West area since 1985.

The new space on the building’s 25th floor has about 10,500 square feet – up from about 7,700 square feet at the current site.

The additional room will enable the company to add new services and add 11 brokers to the 29 currently on staff, said Devon Atlee, manager of the company’s Sacramento region.

Tenants at the 447,000-square-foot Park Tower include Deloitte LLP, California Strategies and the Downtown Sacramento Partnership.
